Hair color trends 2011

Over the years hair color companies have provided an array of choices to consumers. With hair companies addressing many of the concerns with regards hair color chemicals, hair color has become more hair friendly. The

 wide variety of colors and shades has made life easier for consumers (or has it made it more difficult?).

With the start of the new decade, do we decide to go back to the fashion drawing board and do a complete overhaul or will the changes be more gradual? Many hair stylists believe that hair color trends from 2010 will influence the trends in 2011. It will also be a year where stylists go back to basics and focus on the four basic hair colors - blonde, brunette/brown, red, and black. Following are p opular hair colors for 2011.

BLONDE: In 2011, not just millionaires will prefer blonds. Let that blonde shade make you feel like Marilyn. When blonde color is enhanced with cool, neutral and warm tones it can look very attractive. Some incredible blonde shades that can be achieved are light ash blonde, light golden blonde, pale blonde, white blonde, vanilla blonde, platinum blonde, strawberry blonde, bright golden blonde, medium golden blonde, honey blonde, caramel blonde, dark ash blonde.

Usually blonde shades are more suited to people with fair to medium skin tone, but dark skinned people can also look great with blonde hair. A note of caution is that blonde hair needs to have that healthy look; limp and unlooked after hair can look dull and lifeless. Lighter tones have to be looked after more than dark tones.

RED: Redheads, also called gingers, stand out in a crowd because of their vibrant hair color. Red hair color can range from bright copper to burnt orange to deep burgundy. Mixing red color with subtle lowlights can give a vivacious look. Red hair is certainly one of the more popular hair colors for 2011.

Just like blonde hair, red hair is more suited to fair people. Blonde and red hair colors are both high maintenance colors. Both need to be protected from sunlight and heat. Both colors can fade quickly and become dull looking. You should also be aware that bright red hair showcases the face, including any flaws.
